| Company Profile & General Experience | |
The company directors Anthony E. Le Blanc and Christopher B. Sorhaindo are both engineers with a combined experience of over 35 years in the construction industry. The company provides construction and Design & Build services, particularly in the areas of road construction, real estate development, underground utility installations, drainage, water supply, treatment and wastewater engineering, including mains laying. It also undertakes project management services in the areas of real estate development, water and wastewater engineering, but additionally in general civil engineering. The
principals’ past employment with the Dominica Water and
Sewerage Company Ltd (DOWASCO) involved a significant level of
project management, civil works design, civil works construction,
administration of construction undertaken by contractors, water
supply and sewage collection, treatment and disposal facility
designs, water resources monitoring, water quality monitoring
and analysis, environmental impact assessments of civil works
in watersheds, and water resources engineering and management. |

| Anthony
Le Blanc, BSc (Hons) Agri. Eng., MSc. (Dist) Construction Engineering
& Management, C.Eng., MICE, MCWWA, MDAPE Tony is a chartered civil engineer with over 13 years post–graduate experience, 7 years of which was spent with the Dominica Water & Sewerage Company (DOWASCO). He was a project engineer for over 5 years, which involved significant water supply system design and construction followed by 2 years as manager of DOWASCO's Operations and Maintenance department. His experience in irrigation system designs includes work as a private consultant to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Caribbean Agricultural Research Institute (CARDI) in Dominica, as well as engagement as the National Irrigation and Drainage Engineer with the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) in 1998. Tony's other strengths are in project management, construction contract and procurement systems and construction management and supervision. He is also a founding member and served as president, until March 2002, of the Dominica Association of Professional Engineers (DAPE), which demonstrates his belief in maintaining the integrity of the Engineering profession. |
| Christopher
Sorhaindo, BSc (Hons.) Agri. Eng., Dip. Water Resources Tech. (Birmingham),
MDAPE Christopher is an engineer with 16 years in the water engineering design and construction field. He worked for 12 years with the Dominica Water and Sewerage Company (DOWASCO) as project and then senior engineer, mainly in the field of water supply and distribution system planning, design and construction with special emphasis on Ram Pump system design. He also headed the Water Quality section of DOWASCO for several years, where he was responsible for water treatment systems design and water quality management. On completion of his postgraduate diploma studies at the University of Birmingham, Christopher worked on a three-month attachment in the UK with the Severn Trent Water Authority (Shropshire Division). Christopher has considerable first-hand experience in the design and construction of water supply systems, from intakes to distribution networks, for real estate developments. |
